SUMMARY:Oral Reading Fluency for All: Using Digital Tools to Build Accuracy and Prosody
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Megan Jensen\, Director of Literacy Impact\, Carnegie Learning; and Heather Sampselle\, Director of Professional Learning Design\, Literacy\, Carnegie Learning \nSponsored by Carnegie Learning \nWatch the Recording\nLearn more about viewing the live presentation and the recording\, earning your CE certificate\, and using our new accessibility features. \nWe know that students must develop oral reading fluency—the ability to read with accuracy\, appropriate pacing\, and expression—in order to comprehend and build knowledge from the texts that they read independently. But teaching oral reading fluency is often a time-consuming and individual process\, requiring teachers to assess each student\, analyze their data\, and respond to that data with targeted practice. Viewers leave with ideas for how to use digital fluency tools to provide response-specific feedback\, model appropriate expression and pacing\, and bring students’ awareness to the connection between their accuracy\, prosody\, and comprehension of text. \nThis recorded edWebinar is of interest to K-12 teachers and school and district leaders. \n  \nAbout the Presenters \nMegan Jensen is the Director of Literacy Impact at Carnegie Learning.
