In this edWebinar, Jillian Kaster, a former elementary educator of 14 years and an implementation coach for Reading Horizons, will address learning loss and how to effectively fill core skills gaps that support reading comprehension including decoding, fluency, and vocabulary. Jillian will address the impact of learning loss on students’ social and emotional health. And, just to make this edWebinar even more timely, she will share some high-engagement, practical-to-implement ways to support students in virtual and hybrid learning environments. Learning loss is real and this presentation will give educators real help in supporting struggling readers.
This edWebinar will be of interest to elementary-level teachers, school and district leaders, special education teachers, special education department chairs, district-level special education directors, professional development leaders, curriculum leaders, equity, inclusion, and diversity leaders, school improvement leaders, and Title I/federal funding directors. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
About the Presenter
Jillian Kaster is an implementation coach for Reading Horizons. Jillian is a former kindergarten teacher of 10 years. Her passion for the multi-sensory language approach to teaching reading stems from firsthand experiences of watching its effectiveness in her diverse classrooms.
