Personalized learning in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, NC aims to develop the whole child and empower students to take ownership of their learning by providing them with multiple pathways to demonstrate mastery in order to be successful and productive 21st century citizens in an ever-changing world.
In this webinar, Jill Thompson, Director of Personalized Learning, discusses Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s implementation plan, best practices, and how they coach their teachers on the instructional shift needed to best meet the needs of their students. Jill also shares their results and findings. This webinar will benefit all K-12 educators.
About the Presenter
Jill Thompson is the director of personalized learning for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, NC. Her background includes teaching, and being a math and science facilitator/coach as well as an instructional technology specialist. She is Google Apps and Chrome qualified and an Apple Teacher 2016. Her educational philosophy is to create a positive 21st century learning environment for students, setting the stage for their entire academic life. Teaching a rich, meaningful, and well-balanced curriculum of skills and concepts through age-appropriate activities encourages children to become lifelong learners.
