Pre-K Assessments: A Systematic Approach
Thursday October 4, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT
Presented by Katrina Erickson, OTR, Learning Without Tears National Presenter; and Keith R. Kline, OTR/L, Learning Without Tears National Presenter
Sponsored by Learning Without Tears
Pre-K assessments, both formal and informal, are a powerful tool in identifying your students’ progress, discovering areas that need attention for remediation, and providing insight in to how you can adjust your curriculum to meet all of your students’ needs. Pre-K assessments enable you to assess your children holistically in the areas of writing, language, literacy, and math and offer a way to communicate your students’ progress.
In this edWebinar, Katrina Erickson, OTR, and Keith R. Kline, OTR/L, both Learning Without Tears National Presenters, help you:
- Understand the purpose of informal assessments in addition to maintaining student portfolios and information gathering
- Implement three informal assessments for readiness and writing and for literacy and math
- Learn observational skills needed to assess your students in the classroom
- Utilize three observation checklists that will help guide your assessments
- Use the collected information to focus on instruction and effectively communicate to the families and others involved in the child’s education
Pre-K teachers and school leaders will benefit from watching this recorded event.
