In this edWebinar, learn how to meet both curriculum needs and IEP goals and objectives for students with autism. This edWebinar covers accommodations that support personalized learning and maximizing large group, small group, 1:1, and independent work so all students have access to learning growth. Learn how to automatically collect data to advance student learning quickly and easily while sharing progress across the entire IEP team. We use Vizzle, an interactive visual learning program, to demonstrate best practices, with specific examples from Texas and Florida. Vizzle will be accessible for district pilots, including for professional development.

About the Presenters 

Lauren Stafford, M.Ed. is currently the Vice President of Research and Professional Development for Monarch Teaching Technologies. She is a former intervention specialist within the fields of autism and special education. She has worked with students in both public and private school settings in Virginia and Ohio. Lauren previously worked as an intervention specialist at the Monarch School (now the Monarch Center for Autism) where she also served as an academic supervisor for four years and acted as the entry year coordinator, LPDC chairperson, data coordinator, and collaborator with curriculum design with Children’s Hospital Boston.

Jessie Brown currently serves as Technology Specialist at the Nina Harris Exceptional Student Education Center in Florida, and on the Pinellas County Board of Education. With a master’s degree in special education and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, she has an extensive background as a special education teacher. Jessie has also trained
special and general education teachers on classroom integration of educational
technology. She has been awarded Teacher of the Year at the ESE Center,
Fruitland Intermediate, and Pinehurst Elementary.
