Emerging TechLet’s face it. Not every classroom is ready to launch into app-driven instruction, but we’re all moving toward mobile learning in some capacity. There is no doubt: It is coming. And when it does, will we be ready? With the prevalence of smartphone technology, educators can build application fluency in their own productivity and learning so that when the time comes, they will have the skill and expertise to help students and colleagues transition into mobile learning. edWeb’s Emerging Tech community dedicated this session to apps that will save educators’ time that can be redirected toward better use.  Michelle Luhtala, Head Librarian, New Canaan High School, CT, presented “The B Side” as a continuation of her first “There’s an App for That” webinar.

Emerging Tech is a professional learning community (PLC) where school librarians can explore all the ways to integrate technology and 21st century learning into school library programs. The community hosts free monthly webinars and live chats. Online discussions provide an easy way to continue the conversation and share ideas and experiences with peers across the country, and around the world. You’ll have an opportunity to collaborate with other librarians as you learn about and explore the many uses of technology in school libraries.  This program is sponsored by Follett.
