Social media is a powerful channel for forming deeper and broader relationships with your education community—teachers, administrators, librarians—any educator, at any level. It was dubbed “social media” for good reason. These channels are ideal for digital interaction, sharing, collaborating, and so much more. It’s fine to use them for “content marketing,” but they are not effective when used for commercial messages and as a sales channel. In fact, you will only alienate the community if you post commercial messages on social media.

Treat social media, regardless of the channel, as if you were looking to engage in a face-to-face conversation and be recognized as a thought leader and expert in your field. What are some of the ways you would start that conversation? Would you walk up to them and simply begin talking about yourself? No. You would look to find common ground, ways that you can interact with that person in meaningful ways, ask about their interests, challenges, and goals. What if you could learn that information and provide a solution, maybe in the form of educational content or inspiration that led to earning their trust? What would the result be? A relationship, a partnership.

Jacob Hanson of PR with Panache!, and Lisa Schmucki of edWeb.net present how social media is a channel that can make or break your success in the marketplace. Jacob and Lisa will show examples of some of the do’s and don’ts in the social media world. You’ll get great examples of how you can use today’s social media ecosystems to be a thought leader, strengthen your brand, generate leads, and provide ongoing support.

This recorded edWebinar will be of particular interest to companies and organizations that use social media to build awareness of their products and services.
