This webinar is part two of a three-part series entitled Extending Place Value Understanding from Smaller to Larger Numbers. The series will cover research-informed strategies for supporting upper elementary students as they extend their thinking from numbers up to 1000 (which can be more easily modeled) to larger numbers, which are less readily modeled and more abstract to understand.

In this presentation, Dr. Sara Delano Moore explores strategies for helping students share what they understand about place value and develop their understanding further through math talks and discourse about models and experiences. Learn about making student understanding of place value visible in the mathematics classroom.

Math educators, especially those teaching grades three through five, are invited to watch this recorded session as well as math coordinators, math instructional leaders, math supervisors, and elementary school principals.

This edWebinar is part of the Extending Place Value Understanding from Smaller to Larger Numbers Series:
Organizing Place Value Tools in a Developmental Progression
Making Learning Visible through Discourse
Mastering Multiplication and Division Using Array Models
