This webinar from the Lessons of Personal Bravery and Self-Sacrifice: The Medal of Honor Character Development Program community presented engaging ideas for teaching the colorful history of the Medal to students and supporting them in navigating the often tenuous balance between sacrifice, merit, and recognition. Attendees explored the history of the Medal of Honor; practiced strategies for student critical thinking, including problem-solving, argument, definition, and process analysis; recognized the inherent difficulty of “completely fair” award programs; and discovered practical ways to support students’ intrinsic motivation.
