Celebrate National Farm to School Month

Farm to school can play a strong role in promoting good health and creating strong economies.  In recognition of this, Congress designated October as National Farm to School Month.  This is a time to celebrate the connections that are happening all over the country between schools and local food! In this month’s Growing School Gardens’ webinar, Chelsey Simpson from the National Farm To School Network shared how communities across the country are celebrating Farm to School Month. She shared many ideas you can use at your own school or program to celebrate the October event.  Chelsey also gave an overview of the Farm to School Month resources and initiatives offered by the National Farm to School Network.  Watch the webinar to learn more!

Quotes from the session:

“Thanks Chelsey. Really helpful information. Off to make Kale chips!!”

“One of the best presentations I have seen.  We don’t have a garden yet at school but looking forward to encouraging the students to grow their own veges.  We create our own videos and we will promote National Farm to School Month.”

“I appreciate the well-thought out, professional presentation and resources.”
